BIBI STAR aligns design with liberation. We aim to help people overcome collective obstacles through mobilizing fashion & design towards positive change. Our goal is to decolonize the industry and bring deserved recognition to non-white craftspeople whose cultures & labor have long been appropriated for the sake of luxury & fast fashion.
BIBI STAR is founded and led by artist, fashion designer, and architectural designer BIBI. Her work captures her passion for sustainability and social justice and follows the storytelling depicted in her art. As an Afghan-American who grew up in Las Vegas, the extremes of her identity are integral to her perspective as a designer and advocacy for human rights.
Hand woven belt made with reclaimed yarn and shimmering metallic strands by the Kochani tribal people of Afghanistan. Tasseled ends are meticulously beaded with traditional glass seed beads. As seen on Timothy Chalamet.
