DRUM x BIBI STAR Hoodie Collab
Collaboration with DRUM - Desis Rising Up & Moving.
Founded in 2000 in response to the increasing surveillance and criminalization of working-class South Asian and Indo-Caribbean immigrant communities in NYC. Over the past two decades, DRUM members have led community-wide defense initiatives to protect our neighbors from harassment from NYPD and ICE; organized mutual aid networks and financial relief for excluded workers; and supported generations of youth and women’s leadership.
DRUM mobilizes and builds the leadership of thousands of working-class, South Asian and Indo-Caribbean immigrants to lead social and policy change that impacts their own lives from immigrant rights to education reform, civil rights, worker’s justice, global justice, housing and climate. Our membership of over 5,000 adults, youth, and families is multigenerational and represents the diaspora of the South Asian communities – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Guyana, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, and beyond.
For our 25th anniversary, we are excited to share these hoodies, celebrate the impact of our work, and envision what we can organize to make possible 25 years from today. Support our work to build the leadership of the working class in NYC and stand up for immigrant communities and rep this hoodie that connects the struggles of Black labor organizing in Detroit with the call for revolution and freedom from South Asia to the streets of immigrant NYC.
“We have to turn thinkers into fighters, and fighters into thinkers.”
